Wow! What a night we had last evening at the Cortland Bowling Alley.

A total of 27 individuals all pulled on bowling shoes last evening. The excitement started at 7PM when sneakers were traded in for bowling shoes and everyone found their own bowling ball. Scouts, along with their brothers and sisters, came to display their bowling skills or try out a new sport. Bowlers were excited to pitch their ball down an alley with the hope of getting a strike. The sound of the ball and the crack of the pins echoed in the alleys. It was genuinely a comfortable way to meet new scouts. I believe the parents had fun too, cheering on the scouts.

Way to Go!

Between games we enjoyed pizza and fries along with soda.

As the evening ended around 9PM, we said goodbye to our new friends and hoped to see them soon. We were excited to meet so many scouts from Pack 53 and we are hoping they will make Troop 353 their home too.

We had FUN!

Good Morning and Congratulations!

This year’s Thunderbird Games were a success, thanks to a handful of hearty Scouts from our Troop who came and ran our station. They endured the elements and help many hundreds of Cub Scouts learn the skills of Fire starting!

Way to Go!!

Many thanks to Daniel F., Jason, Mark, Troy and Will who taught fire starting to young and old. Without their patience and good nature we surely would have failed.

THANK YOU to Mr. Feuerstake, Mrs. Yetter, Mr. Tarrant and Mr. Gallo for coming out and helping Scoutmaster Eliopouls successfully complete his first District Event as Scoutmaster. Thank you.

P.S. I look forward to seeing everyone at Cortlandt Bowling Alley tonight at 7PM. We are hosting a bowling/pizza party to introduce ourselves to the Webelo Scouts from Pack 53 - Den 9. Hope to see you there.

We will be hosting “Fire Starting” at the Thunderbird Games scheduled for Croton Point Park on Saturday, October 17th. We will demonstrate how to start fire using a flint and steel and teach cub scouts those same skills.

Our Troop should arrive at 10:00 am, so we have ample time to set up our booth. We will meet behind the Registration Booth. Wear your uniform and bring your TROOP SWEATSHIRT for warmth. As always, the wind comes off the river and it could be a very chilly day. Listen to the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

Please bring a bag lunch and water/juice. There will be food and drink for sale, but come prepared.

Opening Ceremonies is at the Games Field Stage at 11:30AM. Games begin at 12:00 noon and are finished at 4:00PM.

Any last minute questions will be answered at our next Troop meeting on Tuesday, October 13th, or you may contact our Scoutmaster
